Book Blogger Hop (2)
Book Blogger Hop is a meme hosted by Jennifer at Crazy For Books. Thanks, Jennifer, for hosting a great opportunity for new bloggers and established bloggers alike to get together and spread their love for books!
The question for this week is:
When you write reviews, do you write them as you are reading or wait until you have read the entire book?
My Answer: Ugh. I should write them as I'm reading. I actually get really great ideas while reading, but I never write them down. I've read other bloggers keep a review journal or even keep post-it notes in their books so that they'll remember specific quotes or passages that they enjoyed.
Yeah, I don't do that.
I'm an emotional reader and an impulsive writer, so if something leaves me with a post-bookie glow, I'll scramble to my computer and keysmash everything down in a draft or in GoodReads. If I'm pissed off about the monstrosity that I just read, I'll also want to unleash the fury on my poor keyboard. (I haven't decided if this is a good or a bad thing just yet.) But if something was just "meh," then I tend to put it off for a time. BAD REVIEWER!
Writing favorable reviews, oddly enough, is much more difficult. Now that I've gone off on every tangent possible... YES, I wait until I'm done reading the book (and sometimes several days after that.)
Looking forward to reading everyone's answers and discovering some new blog friends today.
Happy Reading, all!
