In My Mailbox (1)

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by The Story Siren and inspired by Pop Culture Junkie.

So... I'm a little late on this, but I literally studied from 12pm until 10pm yesterday, so there was no time for any blog stuff. Plus I've been insanely busy with school/work/life in general, so I haven't even had the chance to buy any books this past week. SHAMEFUL. So I'm doing IMM for the last two-ish weeks.

I didn't actually get anything IN my mailbox, of course. I'm more of a "go to the store and buy it because I do love some instant gratification" kinda girl. And speaking of going to the store, my mom and sister came down to visit (they live about 300 miles from me) and it just happened to be on a weekend where Borders had a 40% off coupon. You'd better believe I made mom and sister sign up for Borders Rewards and gave them money to buy me books.
On multiple days.
From multiple Borders (apparently they don't have restrictions on this, according to the store clerk. )
Stroke of genius, I know.

Anyway, this is my loot:

The Dark Divine by Bree Despain
The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting
Paranormalcy by Kierstin White
Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken
Linger by Maggie Stiefvater
Other by Karen Kincy
Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson

I realize a ton of these have been out for some time, but the bank account only goes so far! I'm looking forward to catching up with the rest of the world and reading these titles.

Looking forward to seeing what books everyone got this week!

  2. Great haul! All of those books are either in my "to read" pile or my "to buy" list. And yes, using family for books is totally acceptable :)

  3. Hm...I like the look of your blog (simple and running strong already!)

You received great books! Of those, I only have a Linger ARC, and even then it's still in the US! Granted, I haven't bought a new book in ages. :\ They've all just been rolling in via authors/publishers & contests. :)

    Oh yeah, new follower!

  4. Haha I have totally done the same thing with my friends! I have sadly not read any of these books but they are on my ever-growing TBR pile...enjoy!

  5. Cass, that's great you get books for review! How long have you been blogging? I realize I'm nowhere near that status, but I enjoy buying books! Just being in a bookstore is a hobby :)

Tara, I KNOW! it's hard to manage TBRs. I have about 75 books that I've purchased that I haven't opened yet. I can't imagine how it is for bloggers who regularly receive review boos!

  6. You had an epic week! TDD is quite good and I have Linger, Paranormalcy, Brightly Woven and The Body Finder (and a book buying problem) so I can't wait to hear how you like those.

  7. I'm glad to hear you liked Dark Divine. I've been meaning to buy it forever, but there's this thing where new books are released every week that kind of gets my focus a little discombobulated. Forget a money tree, I want a "new YA release" tree!

Would you like to fund my invention of said tree? I think it'd help with your book buying problem ;)
