Meet Lynn Marie of Bringing the Epic!

So I've contemplated this for awhile, ever since April from Good Books and Good Wine planted it into my head last year. Being a newish blogger is scary. When I started out, I didn't want to talk to ANYONE because I felt like I was trying too hard and no one wanted to hear what I had to say. It's an awesome feeling when people spread buzz about your blog and give a proper introduction into this wonderful, tight-knit community.
I decided to start a feature where I spotlight bloggers who have 150 followers or less, to help spread the word of their awesomeness. No idea what to call this feature yet, so your ideas are VERY welcome.

I really didn't think there'd be a better place to start than my absolute FAVORITE new blogger, Lynn from Bringing the Epic. I may have a very slight bias because she is my bestie in real life, but trust me. You want to know this chick. She's super enthusiastic and passionate and has really fallen into blogging like an old pro. Let us not waste anymore time and you may see for yourself how great she is!

A bit about yourself in 50 words or less. Ready, set, go.
Ridiculous is the first word that comes to my mind in describing myself. I will try most anything once for two very good reasons: Just to say I've done it or There's a free t-shirt involved. Seriously. I ran my first 5k because I wanted the t-shirt.

Running? For a T-SHIRT?! Goofball, much? :) So, what brings you to the wonderful world of blogging?
I was introduced to blogging by peer pressure and jealousy :) When your IRLBFF tells you you'd love it over and over again and then starts talking about her wicked awesome friends from around the States and over seas it's hard to argue with! Also when a certain Texan is being used as back up for said bff...*cough* LINDSI *cough* You have to just try it, right? That and like stated, now I can say I've done it! Do you think I'll ever get a t-shirt out of it?

I'm pretty sure a t-shirt can be arranged! :) Biggest excitement about blogging?
The biggest excitement I've had so far was no doubt the Dark Days Tour!! Meeting so many fab bloggers was beyond words. I'm so new to this community and they were all so welcoming. By the time we got to the signing the authors were the cherry on the top! It's true, bookish people are the best! The most exciting thing I can imagine about blogging right now is that maybe one day an author will read a review I've posted for their book! I hope it makes them smile! Even if I never hear about it, what a cool impact to make on someone you respect, ya know?! :)

YES! Having an author acknowledge your review (and especially being able to discuss their book with them) is the craziest kind of starstruck excitement! Now tell us about your biggest blogging fear.
EASY. Failure. I'm horrified actually. I usually will start doing something (singing, crafting, gymnastics, gym memberships in general lol) and love it but then I fall behind and I leave it. Sure, I come back to it every now and then but it's never really the same. So far so good! This community keeps you wanting to come back for more!

You get a lunch date with one book character. Who is it? Why? What would you talk about?
Kartik from Libba Bray's A Great & Terrible Beauty. I fell SO in love with him. His skin, his passion, his eyes, his dedication...ugh, it was soo much to handle! And I'd say he was my first book love! When I finished the series I literally cried. I won't ruin the ending but seriously, my heart stopped. I'd ask him about the caves first. I want to hear his version of the texture of the walls and the scents that surround. And I'd want to hear about 19th century England. I want to hear about him walking through the streets and the sights and sounds of somewhere so magical. And since by then I'd be more than wrapped up in the moment, I'd probably not so smoothly hit on him and see if he'd be willing to take on another Ginger :) I mean, hey, Gemma's away at school right!?

It's true! Gemma did have red hair, so I think you may have a shot! Tell us about a book that has recently blown your freaking mind.
Oh man...what book has recently blown my mind...I haven't picked up a bad book lately so this is tough!! I think on a personal level I have to go with The Unwritten Rule by Elizabeth Scott. I chose to read it because it looked like a nice easy read. I finished Radiant Shadows and had to wait of my lil sis to finish Vampire Diaries so we can read Darkest Mercy together :) So I figured this would be light and fresh and revamp me for the finale of the Wicked Lovely series. I didn't expect it to hit me. But I've been there. I've been the stepping stone for guys to get close to my best friends. I've hooked up guys that I was crushing hard for with my friends because they liked each other. Ever do that and then have the guy thank you, hug you and tell you he loves you? SUCKS. Unwritten Rule was like my redemption. I shoulda got the guy, I coulda got the guy! I couldn't wait for the next piece of silence between Ryan and Sarah!

Yeah... I'm gonna need you to read Darkest Mercy ASAP. Like NOW :) Anyway, suppose your life is being made into a YA novel. Write the blurb that will be on the back. (Please don't hold back on the outlandishness. After all, it's your book!)

He walked up to her, parting the fey that had surrounded her with his appearance, never once taking his eyes off of hers. He reached out and grabbed her hand, kissing it gently and releasing it. She felt herself glow, her cheeks warmed and her heart throbbed. She stumbled for what graceful thing she could say to this creature. The closer he got to her she could see that his eyes were a light green and every light source around them seemed to find their way to them, they danced with a joyish fever she'd never imagined.

The life she never had inspiring a world she created. Join Lynn Marie in the epic journey that started with a life-threatening illness, grew into a passion for all things and ended in the ultimate use of her imagination. Friendship, heartache, defeat and triumph fill the pages of this normal girl's chance to live the life of her dreams.

Dude. Nicely done. I always knew you could write, but may I pretty please ask you to finish your current writing project so you can get it published and in bookstores? I'M INTRIGUED. There you have it, folks. I told you she was awesome. Now go visit her blog, Bringing the Epic, and show her a warm welcome. She needs to know just how incredible the book blogging community can be!

Are you a blogger with less than 150 followers who would like to be featured on this as-of-yet-unnamed Blogger spotlight thingamajig I've got going on? Email me at: makeshiftbookmark at gmail dot com! I've already got a good handful of bloggers, but I'll be glad to put you on the list. Please bear with me, as it may take several weeks or months to spotlight you!

I'm not very aggressive so I don't have a lot of followers yet either, but I just love blogging! Welcome to a great community Lynn Marie!

Also, I think it is sooo awesome that you and your real life bff have book blogs!
