Your Makeshift Bookmarks (10)

Your Makeshift Bookmarks is derived from two things: a) my obvious blog name and tendency to use inane objects to mark my pages. And b) Jamie from The Perpetual Page Turner's inspiration (and suggestion!) to start a blog feature where you all can show off the awesome, random crap you use for bookmarks.

And by the way, if you're interested in recording a vlog or doing a photo post for YOUR makeshift bookmarks, shoot me an email at makeshiftbookmark at gmail dot com and I'll be glad to feature you <3 You don't have to be a blogger, this is open to readers, too!

A warm welcome today to Capillya from That Cover Girl. She's one of my most favorite bloggers and people in general. You may have seen her on Twitter making witty comments that make everyone smile. Or perhaps you've checked out her blog and watched her squee or scoff over various book covers (seriously, more wittiness abound. IS THE GIRL EVER NOT HILARIOUS? hint: no.) This vlog is no exception.

Okay, seriously. I steal (BORROW!) Splenda from work all the time and end up sticking them in my books.

By now, you're probably wanting more Capillya hilarity, so please go head over to That Cover Girl. You will not regret this. Thank you, Capillya, for participating and doing a makeshift vlog :)

  1. Love that video! LOL at the food-related bookmarks, that's awesome. But I think my favourite would have to be the holographic Harry Potter card! Oh and love the British accent too :D

  3. Omg I alwayyyys put my phone in my book! A lot of times I forget that I put it in there and end up dropping it...hence the crapped phone. And your British accent is GOOOOOD.

  4. I've been known to use my phone as well, just to keep my place when I'm wandering off for a little while. Also sugar packets, though I've never used Splenda. My main makeshift bookmarks are receipts, money-off coupons for shops, or photos. Or whatever is at hand...

  5. Hahaha I love how you guys liked my cheesy accent! CARLA, EAT YOUR HEART OUT. Excuse me while I go and make my bazillions of dollars reading things out loud.

I think Katie needs to do a blog/vlog, too, Jen!

  6. I'm a major book polygamist, but rarely a bookmark polygamist. Usually I'm reading one or two books at a time and listening to another. But usually only one of my reads gets a bookmark. And it's not like I'm partial to one (makeshift) bookmark - I switch it up - but there are a few favorites I keep running back to.

  7. That was awesome. I use most of those things as bookmarks too. I occasionally use real bookmarks, but I've come to call myself the "black hole for bookmarks". I lose most bookmarks within a day and can never quite figure out why or where they go. I even lose them when I don't leave the house.

  8. Love it... bills, temporary tattoos. Oh yeah!

  9. Haha. I use bills all the time, until the amount depresses me and I have to move on to receipts or post it notes :)

  10. Dang it. I can SEE her, but can't HEAR her. Must watch this later at home. I see pizza hut packets & sugar packets. And I see C's GLORIOUS hair!!! (I secretly want it)

  11. Sugar packets?? What if they got wet and spilled stickiness into your book?! I think I would cry. Also, I think you should sing to me with a British accent :P

  12. Hahaha. This cracked me up. I think the pizza hut packet was the best.
