I know. I should be kicked out of swoony girl humanity for this one. Every time I go to pick it up, I just can't. WHY IS THAT!?
Yep. I read the first three. I remember enjoying them. But for whatever reason, I feel absolutely UN-compelled to pick up any other C. Clare books. I'm totally fine with the story ending where it did.
I read Cracked Up to Be and loved it. I have both of Courtney's other books and haven't gotten around to them.
Another book I have on my shelf. I've heard amazing things. WTF is my delay?
I KNOW. Even more sins against womanhood.
Despite the continuous peer pressure.
They seem heavy. I like heavy books. And I also like heavy books that are told in verse so they're easy to finish quickly.
SWEET MERCIFUL CRAP, I want to read this book now. Why does something ALWAYS come between us?
9. The Rest of the Black Dagger Brotherhood after book 2.Ugh. I tried so hard to love these books. After reading about half of book 3? No thank you. Even she who loves angst and romance more than anything else in the world couldn't take the massive amounts in these bad boys.
And they come so highly recommended.

Well, add one to your list of people who haven't read any of these. I have several of them and I haven't read them yet!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I haven't read any Dessen either. But trust me, read Looking For Alaska!!
ReplyDeleteYOU ARE NOT ALONE. I haven't read #1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, or 10. Even though I own almost all of them, ahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI'm also devoid of Dessen. And Beth Revis. You are not alone!! :)
ReplyDeleteDessen! I push them to you with gusto. LOL. :) And John Green too! Oh, and I feel the same way as you do with CoFA. I'm perfectly happy with the ending of CoG, so I really don't feel like reading the next one.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these books either. You're not alone!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything on your list (though I own a number of them). Feel better?
ReplyDeleteI just had a jaw-dropping moment. There are so many great books here. You'll get to them, I'm sure of it and when you do, you'll be so glad you did.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are right, Hopkins is heavy, but so incredibly worth it.
Looking for Alaska is on my TBR list as well. I own it! I loved If I Stay, so I definitely plan on reading Where She Went.
ReplyDeleteWhew, I thought I was the only one who didn't read If I Stay haha. I need to read CoFA, loved the other 3. I'm not interested in Will Grayson or Across the Universe tho. Yes, I need to read Sarah Dessen too.
ReplyDeleteAww yes Sarah Dessen...I knew there was something I was leaving off my list..oh well..
ReplyDeleteWill Grayson, Will Grayson is my favorite book EVER. I love everything by John Green & David Levithan though. And I'm not sure if I'd tell you to read COFA or not. I felt it was unnecessary, but I didn't hate it or anything.
ReplyDeleteI've read If I Stay and Where She Went. If I Stay had me bawling! Across The Universe was really good! I haven't read the others though either!
ReplyDeleteMy Top 10!
You need to read If I Stay/Where She Went. But only when you're in the mood TO HAVE YOUR HEART RIPPED FROM YOUR CHEST. But, you know, in a good way.
ReplyDeleteMore peer pressure....YOU HAVE TO READ JOHN GREEN!!!! It is a must!
ReplyDeleteIt took me forever to pick up If I Stay.. but you MUST read it so you can get to Where She Went. Jen, that book is about a boy with music! and pain! and OMG I FREAKING LOOOOOOOOVE IT. I think you're better off ending the CC series at City of Glass. I don't think CC should have continued on, but that's just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteIf I could tell you to pick up just one of those, it would be the Poison Study series (or first book) by Maria V Snyder. Beautifully written and fantastic characters.
ReplyDeleteI read my first Ellen Hopkins just in the past month. I received one for review and felt guilty enough for not wanting to read it to actually give it a chance. I was blown away.
Apparently we haven't read a lot of the same books! I have read two books by John Green, but I've also read If I Stay, Just Listen, and DUH COURTNEY SUMMERS. =)
ReplyDeleteWhat the what? You didn't like the Brotherhood?
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with that? :)
~Asheley
You must read If I Stay- it's so amazing! I hope you get around to it soon. I haven't read City of Fallen Angels yet either and like you, I've read the other books in the series. I am just not sure about it either. I really want to read Just Listen and haven't gotten to that one yet either, but have read most of her other books.
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better i think I have only read 1 book out of ALL your list.
ReplyDeleteIf I Stay and Paper Towns (John Green) are two favorites from your list. I also still need to read Some Girls Are and Across the Universe. It's tough having so many great books to read (but also pretty awesome).
ReplyDeleteoh girl! YOU BETTER GET ON IT! REALLY? No If I Stay!?! AHHH! must read. And Some Girls Are.. epic!
ReplyDeleteWhaaat? NO. Jen. You must read If I Stay!
ReplyDeleteI still need to read Some Girls Are and Crank. But otherwise, I can definitely vouch for the books you listed being awesome! :)
Sarah Dessen will change your life. hope you're ready.
ReplyDeleteIf I Stay and Across the Universe are actually in my TBRSoon pile as we speak :P
ReplyDeleteYou def need to read #1 and #4. Great reads. Hope you get to read all of them soon :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on a lot of these but I will seriously recommend John Greens An Abundance of Katherines and If I Stay. Good stuff to look forward to for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh my god. Read Will Grayson. Seriously. Tiny Cooper. Tiny motherloving Cooper. Your life will feel complete afterwards.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest vote is for If I Stay/Where She Went. YOU MUST READ THIS. That is all.
ReplyDeleteSarah Dessen is a must read! The Truth About Forever is her best... But I totally know how you feel about City of Fallen Angels! I was so mad about Jace and Clare never really getting together.. smh -.-
ReplyDeleteMan, so many of my favourite books right here on this list.
ReplyDeleteIf I Stay/Where She Went
Some Girls Are
Sarah Dessen
John Green
The Poison Study series
Plus, CoFA was great (although not quite up to par with the first three books, IMO) and I really liked Across the Universe too.
I still need to read most of these on your list, I've only read Some Girls Are, the first book in the Study series, and 2 Sarah Dessen books.
ReplyDeleteThere are SO MANY great books on your list. You have so much awesome in your future, seriously. Though I'm with you on CoFA. I don't think the series needed to be continued..
