In My Mailbox (52)

IMM is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. (One week! YAY!)

I had an absolutely fabulous week in books, as well as an unexpected surprise: SHINE. Though I'm just saying, I'm probably going to end up buying all three of the new designs in hardcover. Because I'm wonky like that.

For Review
Shine by Jeri Smith-Ready (I already reviewed this HERE!)

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund (thanks, Pam!)

Psych Major Syndrome by Alicia Thompson
How to Save a Life by Sara Zarr
Perception by Kim Harrington

thanks to SimonTEEN, Bookalicious Pam, and Half Price Books for being awesome!

  1. Oh how your Shine will be coveted.

    Amy @

  2. Darkness Shows looks like it would be a great story. Can't wait to read your thoughts!

  3. Shine looks so good! I hope you enjoy everything you got this week. Here's my IMM!

  4. I'm really eager to read For Darkness Shows the Stars! I hope it's as good as Peterfreund's unicorn series.

  5. I really need to read Perception soon. I'm dying to read For Darkness Shows the Stars and Shine. Enjoy your books :)

  6. 200 pages in to Shine & I'm just..... omg I'm scared & sad for it to end :( aaahhh!!!!!!

  7. For Darkness Shows The Stars sounds amazing. The title, the fact that it is based on the HBIC herself Jane Austen, and a kickin romance. Thanks for the heads up!

  8. I've had For Darkness Shows the Stars for a while now and need to get on that bizness. Everyone seems to be SO excited about Shine. I seriously need to read that series. Sigh. I've been saying that FOREVER.

  9. Pam is legit you.

Well, I lie. I still need to read book 2, but your enthusiasm for JSR is contagious yo.

  10. I cannot WAIT to read FOR DARKNESS SHOWS THE STARS. I've wanted to since the book sold in 2010. Enjoy it SO much!! I still need to read CLARITY and SHADE, eep! Enjoy everything!

  11. I couldn't help but snicker at The Psych Major syndrome - I'm a clinician myself, so the quiet laughter was involuntary. I wonder how the premise of the narrative goes. :)

    Here's mine over at GatheringBooks:

  12. Wow! You got Shine! I read Shade a while ago, but it didn't work for me. Still, since I've seen you love the series so much, I'll read the next one and see how it goes :)

And For Darkness Shows the Stars? That's AWESOME!

Have a great week, Jen! It makes me happy to see you're back <3

I recently read Psych Major Syndrome, and I'm not going to lie, I kind of hated it :/ Hopefully you'll have better luck with it :]

  15. Looks like you have a nice haul for this week!

    Happy reading,

  17. You know, it was your review of Shine that got me all excited for Shift. Which I still haven't read but just recently picked up at signing. BRO, THAT RIVER SCENE. I totally snuck a peek at it through J. Smith's website and read it from Zach's perspective and.... A;KLSDJF;LKAHSDFHSADF is about the best I can do to recap my reaction.

So jelly of your copy of For Darkness Shows the Stars. I'd kick something really hard if it entertained someone enough to grant me a copy XP And Perception was my shizz. I absolutely adored it. Harrington has got style. ENJOY YO' BOOKS, JEN.

    Have an amazing reading week!
