A Peek at My TBR (20): Historical Romance Edition

Disclaimer: these are books that I WANT to read and are on my TBR list, not books that I necessarily own (unfortunately!) And if I do have any of them on my shelf, I'll specify :)

A Peek At My TBR is a feature inspired by Waiting on Wednesday by Jill at Breaking the Spine and Books To Pine For by The Story Siren. I did WoW for awhile, but honestly, there's never only one book I'm "waiting" on. And a lot of the books that I "pine for" aren't just up-and-coming books. There's still a ton of oldies but goodies that I'm just now discovering or want to read soon, and I feel like those deserve some recognition as well as the fresh meat.

Own a Copy?: No
Why I Want It: Well, let's see. I'm already a humongous fan of Sophie Jordan, thanks to her Firelight series. She knows how to amp up her alpha males. And I sure do love me some alpha males. Then I met her at RT and she's all, "why don't you try my adult series? If you love Cassian (AND I DO!), you'll probably love the men in my Forgotten Princesses series." So I tried book one, Wicked in Your Arms, yesterday and OMG SHE'S RIGHT. Plowed through that shiz like my eyeballs were on fire. Next, please.

A Rogue by Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean

Own a Copy? No
Why I Want to Read It: BECAUSE, you guys. Historical romance is my new shiz. I have seen the light. I'm glad I have Sarah MacLean's Nine Rules books on hand, because after this review book I'm reading, IT IS ON. There's just something about that fairy tale prince. PLUS, these heroines are my age and I don't feel awkward swooning over literary adults. They're all strong female who don't ride side-saddle and manly manly men who rule kingdoms and what not. It's like Sleeping Beauty but BETTER. And I wouldn't mind if there was a villain as evil as Maleficent, really. Bitch was cray.
