In My Mailbox (66) / Stacking the Shelves (7)

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren and Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga.

These bookish memes allow us to share with other bloggers the awesome books we got, and of course be jealous of everyone who got super awesome books, too!

Hope everyone had a great week! I started a new job with a new hospital. It's much smaller than I'm used to, but everyone is so fantastically nice and helpful. Tomorrow's my first day on the med-surg floor and I'll be with a preceptor, but I cannot WAIT to learn, learn, learn!

In other news, some of you following me on Twitter probably saw that my cat Bo (who has anterior uveitis, which is an inflammation of the inner part of the eye) had quite a crappy week. His eye was worse than I've ever seen it before. Unfortunately, this is a very vague symptom and can be indicative of lots of diseases, both manageable and fatal. I took him to a feline opthamologist and spent way too much money on some labs which will give us some insight as to why this is happening. I don't yet have these results, but I'm crossing my fingers that whatever it is, Bo will still be able to live a long and happy life with us. Some good thoughts, please?

Onto the books... I got a few, but MAN. They're amazing.

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis (thanks, Erica!)

Nighshifted by Cassie Alexander
Moonshifted by Cassie Alexander
Thanks to my amazing co-blogger Carla for recommending these to me. Paranormal romance novels about a nightshift nurse, written by a nightshift nurse? This is the best ever.

Oh, hey. You didn't miss a post this week, did you?

Monday, December 3: Jen reviews Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout and shamefully admits a crush on an alien. WEIRDNESS. But also, kinda sexy.
Tuesday, December 4: Jen does Top Ten Tuesday and talks about the books she wants for Christmas. And you know what? She made some up, too. Hello, a couple more Harry Potter books? IF SANTA'S REAL, HE'LL MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Friday, December 7: Jen reviews Faery Tales & Nightmares by Melissa Marr and, as if anyone is surprised, is STILL flying her Melissa Marr Fangirl Flag, high & proud.
